Should I wear my watch ? PDF Print E-mail

If you are lucky enough to own a superlative timepiece, should you wear it ?

Watches are like cars, would you own a rare Ferrari and never drive it ? You probably wouldn't go to the supermarket in it but you might go for drives at the weekend during the summer.  At auction, the pricing is dependent on a lot of factors. Cases that have been over polished will deteriorate in value but on the other hand, a watch that has been badly treated and is covered in dings and scratches will also lose some value (unless it is so rare that it doesn't matter). In general the kind of people who can afford to buy superlative pieces costing more than supercars are also inclined to look after them and not wear them whilst they are doing the washing up.

Our advice is wear your watch in a manner befitting its importance to you and generations to come...
